History
The Vancouver office of Family Services Employee Assistance Programs (FSEAP) was initially established in 1981 as part of the counselling department of Family Services of Greater Vancouver. Operations were launched with the implementation of two local onsite EAP programs. In 1985, Family Services Board of Directors made the decision to actively promote EAP as a six month pilot project. This initiative propelled the expansion of EAP contracts and witnessed the development of a BC professional associate network. Our affiliation with Family Services Canada led us shortly thereafter to become part of a national integrated company of employee assistance providers known as Family Services Employee Assistance Programs. fseap had been instrumental in pioneering employee assistance programs in Canada. Our involvement with FSEAP provided the opportunity to work with EAP programs nationally as well as locally.
Today, the Vancouver office of FSEAP provides services to over 100 organizations throughout BC and Western Canada and contributes to the successful management of 1000 organizations nationwide. These organizations represent a broad scope of both the public and private economic sectors, and range in size from 20 employees to more than 10,000. National services offer centralized program administration as well as client access to EAP services nationwide. Regional services offer specialized awareness of local workplace and community issues, and facilitate referral to community-based resources. For more information about FSEAP National, www.fseap.ca.
Rooted in the communities we serve, FSEAP contributes all of its profits to the ongoing development and support of community programs. When you choose us as your EAP provider, you are choosing to build not only a healthier workplace, but a better community for everyone.
FSEAP is accreditated by the Council On Accreditation (COA), an association which promotes standards of excellence for EAP practitioners, and is committed to its leadership within the EAP community.
